4th of July Festivities
Posted a little late & out of order, to boot. Some blogger I am! Just trying to get a tiny bit caught up. Went to the Chanhassen Parade (we were ready to try out the Chaska parade, now that we are Chaska residents, but discovered that Chaska does not actually have its own parade--who knew?). Robert rocked it by taking our EZUp & chairs to set up hours ahead of time, plus he scored a spot just in front of a tree. Go, Robert! For the first time, Evelyn joined us in her wheelchair and Cyndi came along, too. They scored rock star parking right next to our 'spot'. The parade was long & it was hot-hot-hot but...truth be told, I just love a small-town 4th of July parade! Especially during a non-election year (not so many political candidates, thankfully). Here is our dinner on the porch afterward...I think you can tell who still has energy for fireworks later and who is ready to go home for a nap...but I'm not going to point any fingers here! Cyndi & Joan helped tie the cute little ribbons on the napkins and get the table set up. I thought it looked so cute! We had "All-American" burgers, "That Good Salad" (yum), corn on the cob, and Cyndi brought a cherry pie for dessert. YUM-O. And our neighborhood fireworks were fairly amazing!
